A basic chaffle is usually made out of a combination of cheese and eggs, which means it’s the perfect keto-friendly snack.

To make the basic chaffle recipe, you’re going to need just two ingredients: 1 egg, and 1/2 cup of shredded cheese.
You can use almost any type of cheese that you want, I highly recommend mozzarella and cheddar.
Basic Chaffle Variations
Once you’ve mastered the basic chaffle, you can kick it up a notch by trying some of these variations:
- Different cheese – Try different cheeses when making chaffles! You can even combine two cheeses together.
- Spices – You can try out different spices and seasoning blends when making your chaffles. I personally use the garlic & herb seasoning from Mrs. Dash.
- Sweetener – If you have a sweet tooth, try adding some keto-friendly sweetener to your chaffles!

You can freeze chaffles. You can store them by placing them into a bag (and separating them with parchment paper).
If you’d like you reheat frozen chaffles, you can microwave them for 1-3 minutes.
You can use a regular waffle maker for chaffles, you just may need more batter to fill all the crevices.
